These energy demands lead to significant carbon emissions and environmental degradation.

Despite Anadol’s noble intention of using technology to advocate for environmental protection, the very act of creating this artwork contributes to environmental harm. The process of generating AI-based art consumes substantial resources, which directly undermines the message of sustainability the project seeks to promote. How can one use a technology that itself accelerates pollution to discuss the preservation of the environment? This paradox raises crucial questions about the authenticity and depth of the project’s commitment to the very cause it aims to support. If the technological medium is inherently destructive to the environment, can the work truly be considered an intervention in the fight for ecological preservation?
2. The Speculative Nature of NFTs: Art or Commodity?
The decision to release Winds of Yawanawa as an NFT further complicates the work’s relationship with environmentalism. While NFTs boast advantages like transparent ownership and simplified trading, they have become increasingly associated with speculative trading and inflated market prices. In the case of Anadol’s work, the choice to sell his art as NFTs may be seen as an attempt to capitalize on the hype surrounding this digital asset class, potentially reducing the artwork to a financial commodity rather than a meaningful artistic or environmental statement.

NFTs, by their nature, turn art into an object that can be bought and sold quickly, often with little regard for the content or the message behind the work. 3. Artistic Integrity and Ethical Responsibility
Art should be a vehicle for challenging dominant systems, not reinforcing them. By turning Winds of Yawanawa into an NFT, Anadol risks commodifying a project that should be about environmental protection and cultural respect. The NFT market, with its emphasis on profit and speculation, inherently distorts the artistic value of the work, reducing it to a mere asset to be traded. In this way, the work’s thematic content is overshadowed by its status as a financial instrument, detracting from the urgency of the environmental issues it seeks to address.

Anadol’s use of AI and NFTs in this project raises a critical question: Should artists, particularly those addressing pressing issues like climate change, bear ethical responsibility for the medium they choose to employ? While digital technologies like AI and blockchain offer exciting possibilities for artistic expression, they must be critically examined in terms of their environmental impact and their complicity in reinforcing the very systems of consumption and speculation that contribute to the destruction of the natural world. In Winds of Yawanawa, Anadol’s attempt to use technology to highlight environmental destruction may end up perpetuating the very systems of exploitation it seeks to critique.
Conclusion
While Winds of Yawanawa may appear on the surface to be a forward-thinking and innovative work addressing urgent environmental concerns, it ultimately reveals a troubling contradiction. The environmental message of the work is compromised by the very technological tools used to create it, tools that contribute to pollution and carbon emissions. Fuck BAYC , Fuck Crypto Punks, Fuck Azuki, Fuck Beeple, Fuck the culture.
Don't get me wrong, like I said above, ERC-721 is pure.
I'm actually very supportive of NFT, it is easy to spread, a declaration of ownership, and a way to bypass regulation.
 I'm against the current nft market. It is like gambling, a game of money, which completely loses the essence of Non-fungible token.
I also want to talk about ownership. Does the ownership of the physical object translate totally to the ownership of the data on blockchain? 
If a person draws on my clay egg, and I turn the egg with drawing to NFT. Who owns the original egg?

I didn’t turn all physical eggs into NFTs, because I couldn’t afford the cost of listing and transferring NFTs, which was £10 each I made this project to satirize everyone's mercenary money game, and I ended up being beaten down by money myself.

Undo is inspired by Douglas Gordon's video piece Stooges Burn-Out. In his work, he lit a cigarette and played The Stooges' 'I Wanna Be Your Dog'. The original song was three minutes and eight seconds long, so I kept it that way. I play Douglas Gordon's video backward, so the cigarette slowly goes from a cigarette butt to a full cigarette. I also inserted many catastrophic events in human history and daily occurrences and play them backward. For instance, I was smoking and washing my face, immediately followed by the collapse of the World Trade Center on 9/11 and the Space Shuttle Challenger crash.


	In today's digital age, undoing a thing has become very simple, press Ctrl+z on the computer, and we can go back to before it happened. In real life, time is still linear, but a video makes it possible to go back in time, like Lynne Sachs's Atalanta: 32 Years Later (2006), in which she played a children's cartoon backward to retell the story in a feminist and liberal version.

I often think about the things that make me regret, if I can do it all over again, would my life be better, and the world better?

	Privacy and personal safety have long been discussed in every society. In China, the government has installed cameras in almost every corner to protect the safety of citizens. Moreover, on Taobao, China’s largest e-shopping platform, everyone can buy a camera of their own for tens to hundreds of yuan. They can install it wherever they want to install it, regardless of the law. Don't care about the privacy of the neighbors, because the neighbors do the same.When I first thought about this, I was in the WeChat group of the community where I lived. My neighbors posted a video taken by a surveillance camera in the chat group. There were two girls. They stayed for a long time in front of a family's house and recorded something in a notebook with a pen. At first, I didn't think this meant anything, but other people in the chat group pointed out that they might be thieves, and come to get familiar with the theft environment in advance. Then more people joined the discussion, and more and more people maliciously speculated about the motives of the two girls. I could clearly see the faces of these two girls and the colors of their clothes in the video. I didn't know if they were thieves, but in the next few weeks, no one saw these two girls again, and no one lost anything.
Are so many cameras really necessary? Whenever I walk on the street, I always have a feeling that I am being watched all the time. I feel like naked，although I did nothing wrong, I still feel nervous.
